Hello,
This is me (Bo, aka Peter) with Muddy Man from Lake Michigan.
I enjoy solving math problems. I think that anyone can learn math well as long as you have the right approach. I invite you to come to see me and let's work out a way that uniquely fits you. I will help you to excel and achieve your own goals.
A bit about myself: In 1984, I was admitted to Fudan University, Shanghai, China, with a high score in the Chinese College Entrance Exam. Especially in Math (which is considered the most difficult Math exam ever since its inception) , I scored 113 (out of 120), while the average score in City of Beijing is 17.
Majored in Applied Math, I got B.S. and M.S. from Fudan University. I taught college math for four years in China, covering the subjects such as College Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics and Differential Equations. I came to the US in 1995 and earned my Ph.D. degree from University of Notre Dame, majoring in Electrical
Engineering. I published numerous papers and co-authored one book for my research work in the areas of Mathematics and System and Control Theory. I also have ten years' experience as a software engineer.
My Teaching/tutoring style: Based on my assessment of a particular student's learning experience, I will adopt a methodology that is tailored to the student's needs. In general, I would start slowly and proceed steadily. By respecting student's self-esteem and building up student's confidence in understanding of the fundamentals, we can then move on to more advanced topics.
For preparation on standardized tests and AP exams, it's better that I have tutored the student for at least 3-6 months.
I like sports. Table tennis and volleyball are my favorite sports. Besides, I like to reading, coding and working with computers. I consider myself a fun guy who happens to love math and is willing to help others to feel the same way.
